What is a Pressure Ulcer (PU)?
Pressure ulcers, also known as pressure sores, bedsores, decubitus ulcers, and chronic pressure wounds, are defined as:
“A localized injury to the skin and/or underlying tissue as a result of pressure, or pressure in combination with shear and/or friction” (Houghton & Campbell, 2013).
